A Virtual Coordination Meeting Held with BSU for the B&R Initiative Mock Business Competition of the Year 2021

  On the morning of March 7th, a virtual coordination meeting with Batangas State University on the Mock B&R Initiative Business Competition of the Year 2020 was conducted in Conference Room 303 of the Academics Building located on Lin’gang Campus. Li Hexing, President and Deputy Secretary of the University, and Huang Dongmei, Vice President, attended the meeting with directors and deans from the International Exchange Office, Department of Teaching Affairs, College of Economics and Management, College of Foreign Languages, College of Continuing Education as well as some concerned workers. Among the distinguished guests from Batangas State University who attended the virtual meeting there are President Tirso Ronquillo, Vice President Kristoffer Conrad M. Tejada, Rogelio A. Antenor, Atty Luzviminda C. Rosales and Etzel Gamab, director of International Exchange Office. The virtual meeting was co-hosted by Mr. Kristoffer Conrad M. Tejada, Vice President of Batangas State University, and Ms. Zeng Fenyu, director of the International Exchange Office of our university.

  At first President Li Hexing extended sincere gratitude to Batangas State University, Philippines for their hosting the annual Competition in 2021. He promised that our university will give full support to ensure its success. Then he made a brief introduction of the remarkable achievements our university has achieved in recent years. As for the cooperation between two universities President Li set forth seven suggestions in total.

  President Tirso Ronquillo, gave heartfelt thanks in return to our university for we have held the competition for consecutive two years. He said that his university will strive to ensure the success of the competition of the Year 2021 and he would be very happy to see more participants from other countries’ universities to display their abilities. He anticipated further cooperation with our university in various domains, including the mutual recognition of academic credits, scientific research, and school-running beyond the national borders etc. He also made an active response to each suggestion on cooperation presented by President Li.

  The Mock Belt-and-Road Initiative Business Competition was originally sponsored by the B&R Initiative ADEPT (International Academic Forum for the Development of Electric Power Technologies) and the B&R Initiative Electric Power University-Enterprise Collaboration Alliance. Through the competition a sustainable and significant international cooperation is expected between the two organizations.

  In 2019 the first competition attracted 9 teams with contesters from 8 universities of 6 Belt-and-Road Initiative countries. The final was held successfully at our university. In 2020, as many as 200 contesters from 10 universities of six countries gathered on the line and ran for the second competition. In May, 2021, to discuss the details of the competition, the President’s Office of Batangas State University invited the administrative staff to hold an online meeting to confirm the operating process with a further discussion of the cooperation between two universities. Both universities reached an agreement to build up a united team for the third competition and it will start to work in June. The competition consists of preliminary, intermediary and final test. In November we will witness the closing ceremony of the competition to last six months.
