Our University Entered into the 2023 World University Rankings Released by U.S. News Report

On October 25, U.S. News released the 2023 World University Ranking List, covering 85 countries and more than 40 academic fields. A total of 382 colleges and universities in China are on the list. Among them, there are 338 colleges and universities from China Mainland, 7 universities from Hong Kong, 2 colleges and universities from Macao and 35 colleges and universities from Taiwan. Our university ranks 1243 in the world with 33.5 points, and 149th in China Mainland. This year five disciplines of our university like physics and chemistry, electrical and electronic engineering, material science, engineering and chemistry have entered into the list.


Up till today the top four authoritative world university rankings are as follows: Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE), Shanghai-Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), QS World University rankings, and U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings. This year the percentage of the index adopted by U.S. News World University Rankings reads as follows: global research reputation (12.5%), regional research reputation (12.5%), the number of published papers (10%), the number of published books (2.5%), academic conferences (2.5%), standardized citations (10%), total citations (7.5%), 12.5% of highly-frequent citations (top 10% of the most frequently cited documents), 10% highly-frequent citations (top 10% of the most frequently cited documents), international cooperation (10 percent), 5% of the highly-frequent citations (the top 1% of the most frequently cited in their respective fields) and 5% of the highly-frequent citations (the top 1% of the most frequently cited in their respective fields).
