After that, Weng Peifen and Huang Dongmei, two deputy directors of the committee, remarked in turn. Weng argued that while revising the education plan we should always take quality first into consideration, adopt the problem-oriented strategy, focus on the effectiveness of training, and strive for improvement and perfection. He suggested that we guarantee and specify the further implementation of the education plan by taking some measures like improving a special team’s working style. Huang gave a high praise of the revised education plan. She stressed that in accordance with the new situation, new changes and new requirements confronted by higher education, the university should hesitate not to tidy up and make adjustments in all aspects to further enhance the compatibility of talent training with social development and students’ demands for individual development; We should also mobilize all to ensure the effectiveness of revising the education plan. Only by constantly updating the teaching concept and adopting modern teaching skills can we guarantee a high quality and a high efficiency classroom teaching and accordingly achieve the goal of a successful classroom teaching.

In his concluding speech, Li Hexing stressed that it is very important to revise the educational plan in light of the current construction of a high-level university and the upcoming verification and evaluation of the undergraduate-oriented education and teaching conducted by the Ministry of Education. He put forward three requirements: First, we must take further measures to propel the implementation of the fundamental tasks to educate people and develop their sense of morality, to further pursue all-round development in ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics, to continue to make the students more civilized, to acquire a stronger sense of social responsibility and competitive skills so as to train socialist builders and successors with balanced development in all respects; Second, we should strengthen the teaching concept oriented to the individual development of students and try to leave the students much freedom so as to trigger their passion to study on their own with more creativity by optimizing the curriculum; Third, we must intensify our systematic thinking. All the concerned colleges and departments should make every effort to collaborate with one another to improve the efficient implementation and specification of the education plan, so that it can truly become a guideline to enhance our competence in talent training.
