The college is equipped with advanced facilities, such as multimedia laboratories, simultaneous interpreting laboratory and computer-aided translation laboratory. The college library has a collection of over 20,000 books. The college is focusing on talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, Cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange and cooperation, has fostered more than 1,000 students, with an average employment rate of 95%. The College is staffed with 74 members, with 5 professors and 18 associate professors, covering a rate of 36%, and more than 20 PhDs (or PhD candidates).

There are two majors, English and Japanese. The School enhances discipline and specialty in accordance with the requirement of the syllabus issued by the Ministry of Education. In line with SUEP orientation, courses are added featuring energy and electric power. Courses like “College English”, “Translation”,“Advanced English” and “Interpreting” are key courses of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and “English in Electric Power” is an elite course of Shanghai Municipality. The college has undertaken more than 30 scientific research and educational reform programs at provincial level and won 1 Third Prize in Education of Shanghai Municipality. It has published more than 300 articles, over 20 monographs and over 40 textbooks.
