Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China Mao Weiming Visits SUEP

On the morning of May 6, Mao Weiming, chairman of the State Grid Corporation, together with other relevant people visited our school for inspection and guidance in the company of Li Mingfu, secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP, and Li Hexing, president of SUEP and the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further exerting their respective advantages and deepening cooperation to jointly promote the high-quality development of the energy and power industry.

Li Mingfu extended a warm welcome to Mao Weiming and other people, and expressed sincere thanks to the State Grid for its strong and long-term support for the school. He noted that every step of the school’s development since its establishment is closely related to the development of the energy and power industry, and is closely connected with the support of and cooperation with energy and power companies. He hoped that State Grid can give more guidance and support to the future development of SUEP, and that the school can communicate more closely with State Grid, thus giving full play to the advantages of talents, technology and intelligence to serve for the development of State Grid as well as the energy and power industry.

Li Hexing briefly introduced the basic situation of our school in such fields as teaching staff, talent training, discipline construction and scientific research, industry-university-research cooperation, and international exchanges, in addition to the achievements made by SUEP.

In his speech, Mao Weiming congratulated our school for its fruitful school-running results and thanked the school for its long-term support for the State Grid. He pointed out that SUEP, as an important base for high-level talent cultivation and scientific and technological research in the field of energy and power in China, has a distinct schooling philosophy and great background advantages. State Grid will strongly support the development of the school and actively promote SUEP to construct a local high-level application-oriented university.
