SUEP Holds “Four Histories” Learning and Education Deployment Meeting

In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on visiting Shanghai and carry out the relative work arrangements of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and CPC Shanghai Working Committee on Education and Health, SUEP held the “four histories” learning and education deployment meeting on Yangpu Campus on May 19, with the sub-meetings held on Pudong Campus and Tencent Meeting simultaneously. Almost 300 people presented the meeting.

Li Mingfu, secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP, pointed out that it is of great importance to enhance the study of the four histories: the history of CPC, the history of new China, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of socialist development, which is a main part of building the long-term mechanism of remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, and is also an essential measure to strengthen the responsibility consciousness, a strong guarantee to promote the school’s reform and development, as well as an effective way to improve the ideological and political education.

On behalf of the Party Committee, Li also put forward three requirements for the “four histories” learning and education: firstly, have a deep understanding about the significance of the work; secondly, improve the education effects; and thirdly, strengthen the implementation of each task.

President of SUEP, Li Hexing, pointed out that the “four histories” education is an important plan made by the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and CPC Shanghai Working Committee on Education and Health, and is also an important political task at present. the Party Committees of secondary colleges and relevant functional departments should shoulder the main responsibility so as to ensure the smooth start and orderly promotion of the “four histories” learning and education and to promote the construction of a high-level application-oriented university with the actual education effects.

Xu Kai, the deputy president of SUEP, made arrangements for the “four histories” learning and education at the meeting, and illustrated the guiding thoughts, main tasks as well as corresponding methods and measures. He noted that more efforts should be made to promote the learning and education, especially in strengthening the leadership of the Party organizations at different levels. The school should take advantage of abundant resources and make innovations on methods to carry out the education of “four histories”, thus creating a series of influential results.
