Students of SUEP Achieved Good Results in 2018 Engineering Robot Contest

The Engineering Robot Contest in 2018 was held in China University of Geosciences in Wuhan, Hubei province from April 25th to 29th. Under the guidance of teachers, students from Automation Engineering College of SUEP formed six teams to take part in this contest. After half a year’s efforts, our school’s teams eventually won a total of 5 awards. The narrow-legged robot designed by our school in Bipedal Walking Program was well recognized by the experts, which can move ahead on the narrow and smooth ground rapidly and accurately with the function of correcting deviation.

Co-organized by Innovative Teaching Methods Advisory Committee under the Ministry of Education and other units, the contest set up 18 programs including artificial intelligence, porter robot, robot racing and creative design of robot engineering. 1,858 teams from 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions participated in the competition.

This contest laid stress on fostering student's ability to combine “engineering, application and practice”, not only further cultivating the graduates' innovation consciousness, practical abilities and integrative skills of applying knowledge, but also arousing their interest and potential of pursuing scientific research. Our school’s teams showed energetic spirits and preeminent comprehensive qualities during the contest.
